Kawasaki Heavy Industries


Kawasaki Heavy Industries was founded in 1896 by Shozo Kawasaki, whom the company is named after. It has headquarters in Chuo-ku, Kobe and Minato, Tokyo in Japan. The company is an international manufacturer of motor vehicles such as motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles. The company employs roughly 29,000 people and its current president is Tadaharu Ohashi.

The company also manufactures watercraft, industrial plants, ships, tractors, trains and small engines as well as aerospace equipment. Some of their aerospace products are military aircraft. Their company has done subcontracting work on various aircraft. Those aircraft are Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer.

Kawasaki Heavy Industries is a contractor for the Japanese Ministry of Defense. Some of their military aircraft include the T-4 intermediate jet trainer, the P-3C antisubmarine warfare patrol airplane and the XP-1 maritime patrol airplane. They also produce helicopters, missiles, space systems, simulators and jet engines.

Aside from airplanes and military defense systems, Kawasaki Heavy Industries also produces vehicles from ATVs to motorcycles. They also manufacture utility vehicles and jet skis.
